It is jointly organised by Brunei Darussalam Cycling Federation, Department of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youths and Sport and the Brunei Tourism Board, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.
This is the first time it is organised in the state with some 20 international teams are invited to compete mostly pro-continental cycling teams, professional cycling clubs and ASEAN countries national teams. Delayed telecast of all stages will be broadcast by ESPN Star Sports Channel, Trans World Sport, Sports News TV and Radio Television Brunei. Estimated about 1.25 billion households world wide will be able to view the Tour de Brunei 2011
KEMAS (Maxiscooters) KB Bike club are the elected Marshalls for the tournament. Total of 21 bikers from the club participate escorting for the special event. 14 out of 21 elected marshal are employees from Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) and Brunei Liqiud Natural Gas (BLNG) Company. Marshal’s duties are to ensure the safety of the participants and provide enjoyable racing experience..
